Box Score 2 CAMBRIDGE, MA – Siena Water Polo closed out the Harvard Invite on a high note Sunday at the Blodgett Pool in Cambridge, Massachusetts. The Saints (4-7) took home a 25-3 win over Carthage before defeating Gannon for the second time this season, 12-9.
Siena 25, Carthage 3
After struggling against ranked opponents on Saturday, the Green and Gold exploded to match the program record for margin of victory in a game (22). The Saints held a 7-1 lead after a quarter and a 14-1 lead at the half, while eight different players got on the board with a goal.
Freshman Parker Thomas led the team offensively with six goals, while seniors Sydney Jones and Lily Graham each had four goals and freshman Stella Chopskie contributed three for a hat trick. Senior Grace Boeve freshman Audrey Lacey, and freshman Finn Magill also recorded multi-goal outings, while sophomore Cece White netted a goal.
Siena 12, Gannon 9
Siena entered a first half battle with Gannon in its nightcap, trailing, 3-2 after a quarter of play and rallying to knot things up at five in the half. The difference for the Saints came with four of five total goals netted in the third quarter to secure a three-goal lead.
Lacey and Chopskie each recorded hat tricks, while Jones and Graham added two goals apiece, and Thomas and Magill each scored once.
Siena will next head cross-country for West Coast action next weekend. The Saints will face off against Nationally-ranked San Diego State, UC San Diego, and Princeton, as well as Saint Francis (PA) at the Aztec Invitational March 10-11. Â
