LAKE BUENA VISTA, FL – Siena Men's Golf made its move to the top of the MAAC pack on Saturday to continue action at the 2023 MAAC Golf Championships at Disney's Palm Golf Course in Lake Buena Vista, Florida.
The Saints – who entered the day a stroke off the lead – carded a team round of +2, 290 to hop Iona and now lead Fairfield by two strokes (-1, 575) entering the final round of play. The team's 36-hole score is also good for its lowest output through the first two rounds of MAAC Championship play in program history.
Siena Women's Golf remains in eighth place through two days of action after improving six strokes with a day two round of +34, 322.
A pair of men's Saints remain in the individual top-ten heading into the final round of play, beginning with sophomore
Dan Brooks, (68-73-141) who sits eight strokes off the lead in a tie for second place. Senior
Nolan Crowley (71-74-145) ended the day in a three-way tie for ninth.
Freshman
Austin Giroux (78-70-148) exhibited the largest improvement by a Siena golfer on the day, jumping 17 spots into a tie for 17
th place. Graduate student
Brody Yates (76-73-149) and senior
Matthew Ferrari (70-80-150) ended the day in ties for 21
st and 23
rd, respectively.
Sophomore
Manoela Barcellos (84-75-159) improved nine strokes the second time around to move into a tie for 25
th place, while freshman
Mackenzie Whitney (78-83-161) ended the day in a tie for 30

Siena will take the course for the final round of the 2023 MAAC Men's & Women's Golf Championships on Sunday, April 23 at 7:30 AM, with coverage on ESPN Plus beginning at 9:30 AM. The Siena men will attempt to win their first MAAC title and clinch a berth to the NCAA Regionals for the first time since 2016.
