LOUDONVILLE, NY – Ahead of the start of the 2023 season, Siena Men's Soccer Head Coach
Graciano Brito announced the signing of incoming junior transfer
Alexander Zielonka as part of the team's incoming class. A midfielder and defender, Zielonka spent the past two seasons at Montclair State in New Jersey.
"Alex is a young talented defender that will add depth and balance to our back line," Brito said. "We are very excited that he will bring experience and leadership to our team. We can't wait to welcome him to our family."
A native of Wallington, NJ, Zielonka played in a combined 41 matches over two seasons for a Montclair State squad that advanced to the second round of the 2021 NCAA Division III Men's Soccer Championship and ended that season nationally ranked by United Soccer Coaches. He took home NJIC Meadowlands Division First Team All-League and BCCA All-Bergen County honors in high school.
Zielonka joins a Siena squad that finished the 2022 campaign with an 8-5-6 mark and its third straight MAAC postseason berth.
