AUSTIN, TX – Former Siena Men's Soccer standout goalkeeper
Greg Monroe '22 officially continued his playing career to the next level last week, signing his first postgraduate playing contract. The Clifton Park, New York product signed an amateur agreement with Austin FC II to join its MLS NEXT Pro (MLSNP roster).
Monroe becomes the 11
th modern-era former Siena Men's Soccer player to immediately continue his playing career at the next level, and joins
Junior Rosero '17,
JC Obregon, and
Conor McGlynn '20, as those who are actively competing.

Graciano Brito. "We are very excited to see one of our Saints involved with an MLS organization. He has worked very hard to put himself in this position, and we wish him all the best."
A five-year member of the Saints from 2018-22, Monroe graduated as one of the most decorated players in program history, taking home First Team All-MAAC and MAAC Golden Glove honors following his final season. A four-time MAAC Defensive Player of the Week honoree in 2022, he was twice named an Honorable Mention selection on TopDrawerSoccer.com/s "Team of the Week" during the year while leading the MAAC in saves, shutouts, and shutouts per-game. He was also honored academically as a CSC Academic All-District selection.
A multi-year team captain, Monroe left the program as its all-time leader in career wins (28), saves (370), shutouts (17), goalkeeper minutes played (7,414), and matches played (81), as well as tied for the single-season leader in shutouts (7 in 2022).
