NIAGARA UNIVERSITY, NY – Siena Basketball seeks to salvage a split of its annual Western New York trip when the Saints take on Niagara in a rescheduled Monday matinee at noon at the Gallagher Center. Originally scheduled to be contested Sunday, the matchup was postponed a day due to the ongoing winter weather emergency across Western New York.

Siena (2-13, 1-3) temporarily erased an 11-point second half deficit before ultimately falling just short in a 67-63 setback at Canisius to open its annual Western New York trip Friday night.
Sean Durugordon erupted for a double-double with a collegiate career-high 30 points and 12 rebounds, extending his program-record streak to five 20-plus point performances to begin his Siena career. Durugordon has now already amassed 119 points – 21 more than any other player has tallied in their first six game as a Saint. Â

Niagara (7-8, 3-2) enters play winners of four straight following a 96-72 thumping Friday night of a Fairfield team which had entered play on an eight-game win streak. The Purple Eagles lead the MAAC in field goal percentage (.477), three-point field goal percentage (.395), and fewest turnovers per game (11.3).

Siena and Niagara meet for the 111
th time, with the Saints holding a 58-52 advantage. The programs met three times last season, with each team winning on the others home court, and the Purple Eagles edging the Saints in the MAAC Quarterfinals. Eight of the past 10 matchups have been decided by six points or less, including all three last season.
