The 30th Anniversary Celebration of the 1993-94 NIT Third Place team will feature a special halftime ceremony, highlighted by a formal induction of Doremus Bennerman into the Siena Athletics Hall of Fame, plus an additional surprise recognition. One of only two players in program history to eclipse 2,000 career points, Bennerman was voted into the Hall of Fame last month.

The 1993-94 Siena Men's Basketball team won 25 games highlighted by four victories and a third-place finish at the NIT. The Saints began their NIT run with a pair of memorable victories over Georgia Tech and Tulane at what is now known as MVP Arena, with the two contests drawing more than 28,000 fans combined, punctuated by a record 15,727 against the Green Wave.

After defeating Bradley in Glens Falls, Siena advanced to the "Mecca of basketball", Madison Square Garden. Despite falling to Villanova in the semifinals, the Saints rebounded behind a legendary performance from Bennerman in the Third Place Game vs. Kansas State. The 1994 MAAC Player of the Year, who set a Siena single-season record with 858 points and a 26.0 points per game scoring average, Bennerman scored a school-record 51 points in the 92-79 victory over the Wildcats. Bennerman, who finished with an NIT record which still stands to this day of 174 points spanning give games, was named the 1994 NIT MVP.
