LOUDONVILLE, NY - Fresh off its thrilling, come-from-behind 2-1 win over Iona on Saturday, Siena Men's Soccer jumps right back into action on Wednesday when the team welcomes the Canisius Golden Griffins to Loudonville. Kickoff is set for 3 p.m. from Hickey Field.

Siena enters Wednesday tied with Mount St. Mary's atop the MAAC standings with 10 points. Of the team's last four matches, three will come against team's currently in the MAAC postseason picture - at Rider (third with nine points), vs. Mount St. Mary's (tied for first with 10 points), and at Marist (sixth with six points).
The Saints have found some offensive spark over their last five matches, combining for 13 goals over that duration. Comparably, the team found the back of the net three times over its first seven outings. The recent stretch has featured distribution across a handful of players- notably
Dren Dobruna, who has seen his season assist total rise to eight. His assist tally ranked atop of the MAAC, tied for 9th nationally, and moves him into a tie for third on the program's all-time single-season assist list - one away from tying the record.
Also over the last five outings, seven different players have recorded a goal for the team, while
Zach Gardner,
Cole Hellert,
Lee Mara, and
Mario Navarro Perez have done so multiple times.
As it has all season, one constant has remained the same for the Saints - that being its backline and goalkeeper
Bennet Glinder. Siena remains top-25 nationally with its 0.833 GAA, while individually Glinder ranks 24th in Division I. The Saints' backline, which has held opponents to 9.9 shots per match, will take on a Canisius squad that puts up 12.08 per match, and ranks fourth in the league firing off 5.83 on-goal per outing.
Canisius enters Wednesday's match 2-8-2 overall and 0-3-1 in MAAC play. The team has fallen in back-to-back league matches against Marist and Sacred Heart, and will be seeking its first victory since a Sept. 6 win over VMI. Michael Switala leads the unit with eight points on four goals, and also tops the team with 25 shots. Ely Sidibe is the only other Griffin with more than five points and 15 shots, as he has seven points on three goals and one assist, and 24 shots. The duo both rank top-10 in the league in shots, while Switala's goal tally is tied for sixth in the league.
In goal, Canisius has primarily rolled with Jack Petrie, who is 2-5-1 with a 2.70 GAA and .611 save percentage over nine outings and eight starts. Kennan King has seen 315:00 in goal, and is 0-2-1 with a .632 save percentage and 2.00 GAA over four matches and three starts.
Siena leads the all-time series at 21-11-4 and have not lost to the Griffins since 2013 - going 7-0-3 over the last 10 meetings. The Saints have also defeated or tied Canisius in each of the last nine matches played in Loudonville, posting an 8-0-1 mark since 2008. Siena topped the Griffins on Hickey Field last season 3-1, scoring three second half goals to come back after trailing 1-0 at halftime.
Following Wednesday, the Saints hit the road to take on Rider at 7 p.m. on Sat., Oct. 26 from Lawrenceville, NJ.
