The Siena Men's and Women's Cross Country Teams broke three personal-best records on their way to collecting three All-MAAC Championship Team honors and two others on the men's side were named to the All-Rookie Team on Saturday at Twin Ponds on the Farm in Montgomery, NY.
As a team, the Siena Men finished in third place, its seventh consecutive season in which it has placed inside the top-three while the Siena Women placed fourth. Each finish was a one spot finish lower in the team standings from a season ago.
Iona won its NCAA record 34
th-straight MAAC Men's Cross Country Championship, securing the top six individual spots and 11 of the 15 positions on the All-MAAC Championship Team.
Quinnipiac took home first place in the women's circuit for its fourth title with five runners finishing among the top-15 spots.
For Siena, senior
Julia Caputo ran a personal-best 20:48.5 in the women's 6K, besting her time on the same course seven weeks earlier by nearly 17 seconds, to finish third overall. The Canton, CT native had a time that was roughly 24 seconds faster than her performance at the IC4A/ECAC XC Championship on Oct. 18.
Fellow senior
Claire Gardner ran the course in 21:13.2, also a personal best that was nearly 19 seconds faster than her time at the Jasper Invite on Sept. 14. The Chestnut Ridge, NY native also received All-MAAC Championship Team honors as she placed 14
th overall.
Graduate student
Killian McNamee was the third Siena runner to also put together his best collegiate performance, running the men's 8k in 24:39.3 to place 14
th overall. The time was about 12 seconds faster than seven weeks prior at Twin Ponds on the Farm for the Tolland, CT native.
Two Siena sophomores were named to the MAAC All-Rookie Team as neither competed in cross country last season. Both narrowly missed out on being inside the Top-15 for All-MAAC Team accolades.
Collin Brown, a native of Rochester, NY, clocked in at 24:43.7 while West Sand Lake, NY native
Colin Brunelle ran just behind him with a time of 24:46.2 to place 16
th and 17
th, respectively.
Postseason competition continues on Friday, November 15 at the NCAA Northeast Regional Championship which takes place at Hopkinton State Fairgrounds Cross Country Course, Hopkinton, New Hampshire beginning at 11 a.m.

ncaa.com on Saturday November 15 at 5:00 p.m. The NCAA Division I Championship will take place November 23 at Thomas Zimmer Championship Course, in Verona, Wisconsin.
