LOUDONVILLE, NY – Siena College Vice President and Director of Athletics John D'Argenio has announced a new direction for the volleyball program, expressing gratitude for the leadership and commitment from Simone Asque-Favia over the past three seasons.
"We'd like to thank Simone for her steadfast commitment to our student athletes over the past three seasons," said D'Argenio. "She led our program with a strong passion and desire to move us forward. We wish Simone all the best."
Prior to her three-season tenure as the head coach at Siena, Asque-Favia was a Division I assistant coach for seven seasons, most recently serving as the top assistant and recruiting coordinator at Seton Hall from 2018-21.
"Although my time here at Siena has come to an end, I have no regrets for the experience and for the great memories that were made," said Asque-Favia. "It is unfortunate not to have additional time to fully see out my vision for the program, but I understand the decision made by the administration, and wish nothing but the best for the future of the Siena Volleyball program and the student athletes I have come to love so much."
A search for the next head coach of the storied Siena Volleyball program will now begin. The Saints have captured a total of nine MAAC Tournament Championships and earned eight NCAA Tournament appearances.
