LOUDONVILLE, NY - The Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference title defense tour for Siena Softball is nearing a start as head coach
Casey Bump released the team's 2025 schedule on Wednesday.
"We are really looking forward to the spring season," said Bump. "We will get the chance to play a lot of early season games in the south against some really good competition to get us ready for league play. Our own expectations have gone up. We want to compete for another MAAC Tournament Championship and make a return trip to the NCAA Tournament. That is the goal. I think that this schedule will help us toward that."
The Saints begin the season from Fri., Feb 7-Sun., Feb 9, in Charleston, SC, at the CSU Kickoff Tournament with games against Georgetown, Charleston Southern, and Bellarmine. It will be the second consecutive season in which Siena will play Charleston Southern and Bellarmine, and the first time since 2013 the team will clash with the Hoyas.
Following its first true away doubleheader of the season at Delaware State on Sat., Feb. 15, the Saints travel south to Madeira Beach from Feb. 21-23 to take on Cornell three times, and North Florida twice. Siena's southern journey shifts to a single game as South Florida on Mar. 5 before heading back to Madeira Beach once more from Mar. 7-9. Much like the first trip to Madeira Beach, the second trip features five games for the Saints, including two against first-time opponent and 2024 NCAA Tournament team, Chattanooga.
Siena will make its way back north for non-conference bouts at Holy Cross (Mar. 15), Central Connecticut (Mar. 20), and Colgate (Mar. 22) before kicking off league play at Quinnipiac on Mar. 25.
Following one more away series at Iona from Mar. 29-30, the Saints will make their long-awaited home debut against Dartmouth on Apr. 1. Furthermore, the Green and Gold feature home games against Stonehill on Apr. 2, Sacred Heart (Apr. 5-6), Marist (Apr. 12-13), Niagara (Apr. 15), Fairfield (Apr. 22), Canisius (Apr. 26-27), and Le Moyne (Apr. 30).
The season amounts to the MAAC Championship Tournament, which will be played from May 6-10, hosted by the top-seed.
