Box Score 2 PRINCETON, NJ – Siena Water Polo began its second tournament of the 2024 season by facing off with a pair of ranked opponents to begin weekend action at the Princeton Invitational. The Saints (3-3) dropped a 16-4 decision to #22 San Diego State, before taking a 21-9 loss to host #9 Princeton at the DeNunzio Pool in Princeton, New Jersey on Saturday.

Facing off against the Aztecs for the first time since 2019, Siena noted the second goal of the day via freshman
Quincy Frommelt, but trailed, 6-2, at the half, and allowed six more goals in the third period.
Frommelt was joined by classmates
Catherine Williamson,
Sarah Tenney, and
Rebecca Currie in netting goals during the match, which saw the Saints score twice in the final period.
#9 Princeton 21, Siena 9
The Saints re-took the pool later in the day to face its highest ranked opponent since 2019 in a team that made last year's National Semifinals. The Tigers scored six of the first seven goals before the Saints rebounded five a five-goal second period, taking an 11-6 deficit into the half. Princeton held the visitors to only three goals in the second half to finish the job at home thereafter.
Williamson went for a hat trick while drawing an exclusion and adding a steal, while Currie added two more goals. Sophomores
Parker Thomas,
Audrey Lacey, and
Samantha Varrie joined freshman
Lucia Fernandez Caballero in also finding the scoring column. Senior goalkeeper
Caroline Behr made eight saves and five steals in the loss.
Siena will conclude weekend action in the Garden State with its second battle with Bucknell this season at 8 AM on Sunday, February 18.
