Welcome Home! Men’s Lax Preps for Home Opener versus Le Moyne

Saints and Dolphins set to faceoff on Wednesday at 2 p.m.

LOUDONVILLE, NY – After a three-game road swing to the begin the 2024 campaign, the Siena Men's Lacrosse team returns to play its home opener at the friendly confines of Hickey Field when it hosts sister school Le Moyne for a first meeting since 1987.

The Saints (1-2) and Dolphins (1-1) are set for a 2 p.m. faceoff on Wednesday.

The teams have split the all-time series at one game apiece.

The game will be available to watch streaming on Siena All-Access with Tom Schwan on the call.  Live stats can be followed here as well as live updates and highlights through "X" @SienaLacrosse.

Several new faces have emerged for Siena in the early stages of this season including sophomore Caden Olmstead, who did not appear in any matches in 2023 due to injury as well as new starting goalkeeper Andrew Arcuri and newcomer Patrick Radomski

All have made a significant impact in how the feel of this team looks on the field.

Olmstead leads the Green and Gold in goals with 11 on 20 shots and is coming off a career-high five-goal output in last Friday's 13-8 road victory over UMass Lowell.

"I've always had confidence when I've been playing and I think I made a good jump from last year to this year," Olmstead said.

"Always repping.  Always playing.  And, yes, it's paid off.  We have a lot of threats offensively and defensively.  So, if they're going to try to shut me down, we got 20 [Pratt Reynolds] on the back pipe. He's always ripping the ball.  We got 30 [Ryan McCarthy] behind the cage, making good feeds.  And, we also have new guys up top who are dominant dodgers and shooters."

Meanwhile, Arcuri has patiently awaited his chance to be the starting goalkeeper after being the understudy to USILA Division I Scholar All-American Christopher Yanchoris for the three previous seasons.

Arcuri, a senior from Westhampton, NY, has steadily improved each game, lowering the amount of the goals he has allowed while also increasing his save total.

After surrendering 16 goals and making 10 saves in the opener at NJIT, Arcuri allowed just eight goals and made 14 saves in last Friday's win at UMass Lowell.

"It feels great," Arcuri said. "To get a win in the third game felt amazing.  I think just seeing more shots has helped me a lot and asking coach to do different releases based upon who we are playing.  Those guys did a lot of high to low releases."

As for the freshman Radomski, the Massapequa, NY native has also appeared more and more comfortable.

The 6-foot-4, 200-pound midfielder scored in the opener at NJIT, and followed that up with a one goal, one assist, one ground ball performance at Hofstra.

Then, Radomski tallied two goals at UMass Lowell and picked up a pair of ground balls in the victory.

He also led the Saints in shots with nine and shots on goal with six.

"I've just been asking a lot of questions and watching film to be ready for the game."

Le Moyne won its opening at Wagner 17-6 and is coming off a 15-7 loss at Sacred Heart this past Sunday.

Senior attack Joey Pezzimenti leads the Dolphins in scoring with three goals and nine assists followed by senior midfielder Seth Benedict, who has totaled four goals and three assists.

Goalkeeper redshirt freshman Carter Ruhm has received the majority of the playing time in net (109 plus minutes) and has a 10.98 goals-against average with 20 saves.
