Box Score NORTHRIDGE, CA – Siena Water Polo kicked off its third trip to California in as many years by facing its fourth nationally-ranked opponent of the year thus far on Thursday evening. The Saints (5-6) dropped a 14-5 decision to #23 CSU Northridge in the second-ever meeting against the programs in Northridge, California.
Playing its first of five games over three days in the Golden State, went down, 7-3, after one quarter of action and could not recover thereafter. Both teams scored exactly once in the second period, but the Matadors recorded six of the final seven goals in the second half to secure the victory.
The Green and Gold got a pair of goals from freshman
Lucia Fernandez Caballero, while senior
Sydney Arnold, sophomore
Audrey Lacey, and freshman
Catherine Williamson also scored. Senior
Caroline Behr spent the entirety of the contest in-goal.
Siena will begin the Claremont Convergence on Friday, March 1 with matchups scheduled against the University of Redlands at 2:30 PM EST and first-time foe Cal State Fullerton at 6:15 PM EST.
