LOUDONVILLE, NY – For the second straight week, Siena Baseball can boast a Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference weekly honor. Junior pitcher
Arnad Mulamekic has been named the Rawlings MAAC Pitcher of the Week.
Mulamekic was masterful Sunday, pitching the Saints past MAAC leader Niagara 5-0 at Connors Park. Facing the conference's top offense - which entered the series ranked 21st nationally in both batting average and runs per game - the southpaw no-hit the Purple Eagles through the first seven innings. The Rego Park, New York native ultimately spun 8.1 brilliant shutout innings allowing only two hits and just three walks while tying a career-high with eight strikeouts to help Siena snap Niagara's 14-game MAAC Regular Season win streak dating back to last season.
Mulamekic and the Saints return to action tomorrow when they wrap up a five-game homestand vs. UMass at 3 p.m.
