Five Saints Secure CSC Baseball All-District Acclaim

Quintet Honored For Success On The Field, In The Classroom

LOUDONVILLE, NY – A total of five Siena Baseball players have been honored for their combined successes both on the field and in the classroom. Juniors Nick Bergamotto, Tyler Sausville, and Owen Pincince, and sophomores Noah Brooks and Jake Sparks have each been heralded as 2024-25 College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Team selections. 
 
The 2025 All-District Baseball Teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student athletes for their combined performances on the diamond and in the classroom. To be eligible for consideration, a student athlete must be at least a sophomore both academically and athletically, possess a 3.50 cumulative grade-point average or better, and have competed in at least 90 percent or started at least 66 percent of their team's games (pitchers must have made at least 17 appearances or pitched 35 innings). The CSC Academic All-America program separately recognizes honorees in four divisions – NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III, and NAIA. 
 
Additionally, Sparks was selected as a CSC Academic All-America® finalist and will advance to the national ballot to be voted on by CSC members. First-, second- and third-team. Academic All-America® honorees will be announced on July 1.
 
Academic All-American is a title reserved for college student-athletes who perform at an elite level in their chosen sport and in the classroom.
 
A junior infielder from Caldwell, New Jersey, Bergamotto earned Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Male Student Athlete of the Week honors on Mar. 5, and was heralded as the Siena College Leo and Jeannine Dufort Male Student Athlete of the Month for April. A MAAC All-Academic Team selection, he currently holds a 3.92 cumulative GPA while majoring in finance. Bergamotto hit .271 in 46 games (44 starts) this spring, while adding four home runs and 26 RBI. He recorded 10 multi-hit and five multi-RBI efforts. 
 
A junior pitcher from nearby Schenectady, New York, Sausville recorded a 3.74 GPA as a marketing major during his first collegiate semester at Siena last fall. Overall, the Xavier and New Haven transfer holds a 3.62 cumulative GPA during his collegiate career. Sausville ranked second in the MAAC with five saves, while striking out 45 in 48.0 innings of work. He paced all Siena hurlers with a 3.55 ERA in conference action while posting a 4-1 record. 
 
A junior utility from North Haven, Connecticut, Pincince posted a 3.51 GPA as a business major during his first collegiate semester at Siena last fall. Overall, the New Haven transfer holds a 3.55 cumulative GPA during his collegiate career. Pincince played in 51 games (46 starts) in his first season donning the Green and Gold, hitting .296 with three homers and 29 RBI. He tallied 10 multi-hit and seven multi-RBI performances. 
 
A sophomore catcher/first baseman from Palmyra, New York, Brooks earned MAAC All-Academic Team honors this season. He currently possesses a 3.88 cumulative GPA while majoring in business. Brooks played in 45 games (43 starts) this season, and hit. 236 with three homers and 28 RBI. He tallied both eight multi-hit and RBI performances apiece. 
 
A sophomore third baseman from nearby Hoosick Falls, New York, Sparks achieved a 3.61 GPA as an applied physics mechanical major during his first semester at Siena in the fall. Overall, the Marshall transfer also maintains a 3.61 collegiate cumulative GPA. Sparks earned Second Team All-MAAC honors, and currently ranks tied for fifth in the MAAC in home runs (14), tied for eighth in doubles (16), and 10th in total bases (128). He appeared in all 54 games (53 starts) at the hot corner, while also leading the Saints in slugging percentage (.601), and RBI (51). 

The quintet helped guide Siena Baseball to a program rebirth this spring. Predicted to place 11th (out of 13 teams) according to the MAAC Preseason Coaches' Poll, the Saints finished tied for third while securing the program's first postseason appearance in four years. Siena won 22 games – a 10-win improvement from the previous season and the program's highest win total in nine years – while the Saints 17 league victories equaled the 2014 MAAC Championship squad for the most in 20 years.
