Box Score 2 Siena Water Polo dropped its opening two matches of the Bucknell Invitational in Lewisburg, PA on Saturday, coming up shy against Mount St. Mary's 16-10 earlier in the day before falling to the host Bucknell, 19-7, to close out the evening.

Catherine Williamson and
Rebecca Currie each had a hat-trick, while four others had one goal for the Saints - including
Ava Vesey, who scored the first of her career.
Samantha Varrie put Siena on the board first just over one minute in as the sides continued to trade goals throughout the first period. The Mount eventually took the upper hand entering the second period, 4-3.
Currie evened the score to start the second after putting Siena within one at the end of the first, while Williamson gave Siena its first lead with 3:39 to go in the half since it was 1-0. However, the Mount scored the final two goals in the second to go into half leading 6-5.
Once again, Currie drew the game even in the third before the Mount rattled off five goals in a row to lead 11-6. Williamson netted one at the end of the third, making it 11-7 entering the fourth. While the Saints put up three goals in the final period, the Mount put in five of its own to separate itself in the win.
Bucknell 19, Siena 7
Parker Thomas and
Samantha Varrie scored a pair for the Saints while three others had one. Bucknell jumped out to a 6-1 lead towards the end of the first, with Siena's lone goal coming from Parker to that point.
Lucia Fernandez Caballero added one while Parker scored again in the period, and Bucknell added another to lead 7-3 after one.
Bucknell tacked on seven more in the second, going up 14-4 midway through. Varrie scored in the third fro the Green and Gold, while
Audrey Lacey and
Finn Magill scored in the fourth.
The Saints play twice more Sunday - first against Saint Francis (PA) at 1:30 p.m. then afterwards against La Salle at 4:30 p.m.
