Women’s Lacrosse: Siena Prepares for Vermont

Saints to host Catamounts on Wednesday at 2 p.m.

LOUDONVILLE, NY – Siena Women's Lacrosse will be looking for its first win of the 2025 season when it hosts Vermont of the America East Conference in a Wednesday matinee with a 2 p.m. opening draw set at Hickey Field.

Siena (0-4) has been gamely despite their record—having played two of those games within a two-goal deficit. Most recently, the Saints are coming off an 11-9 home loss this past Saturday against UMass Lowell after it led 5-3. A decisive third quarter that ended up being a 6-1 advantage in favor of the Riverhawks put the Saints down 10-6 heading into the fourth quarter.

The Saints offense has been led by experienced senior attack duo of Kelly Logue and Grace Dobrzynski, who are number one and two in scoring on the team with 10 and nine total points, respectively.

Dobrzynski continues to move up all the all-time rankings in Siena point scoring, breaking the 200-point plateau two games ago against Dartmouth and currently ranks fifth in the MAAC in assists per game.  Logue leads the Saints with eight goals and ranks eighth in the MAAC in shots per game with 6.25.

On Saturday, the Saints did spread the wealth on offense as seven different players scored.

As for Vermont, the Catamounts (2-3) are seeking to bounce back themselves. After winning its opening two games at Jacksonville and Le Moyne, it has dropped its previous three games at MAAC opponents Marist and Fairfield as well as Brown this past Saturday.

The Catamounts have been led by a pair of promising underclassmen in sophomore Lydia Doraz (13 goals, six assists, one winning goal, 22 draw controls) and freshman Caitlin Haggerty (seven goals, four assists, one winning goal, eight ground balls).

A potential goalkeeper match up features a pair of sophomores in the Saints' Shaylin Romero (13.93 goals-against average, 29 saves, .372 save percentage) and the Catamounts' Anna Rosenberger (13.15 GAA, 36 SV, .375 save percentage).

The game will be featured on ESPN+ with Joe Puccio on the play-by-play and Lauren Bergin serving as the color commentator.
