Using momentum from its fall-ending victory at the Crusader Invitational, Siena Women's Golf opened its Spring 2025 season just the same - winning the Sacred Heart Spring Break Invitational from Eagle Harbor Golf Club in Fleming Island, FL, Thursday. The Saints finished six strokes ahead of the five-team field, finishing the 36-hole tournament at +60, 636 after finishing the second round at 34-over.
Prior to this season, Siena had not won a tournament since winning the MAAC Championships in 2014. Now, first-year head coach
Noel Gebauer has led the program to a pair in just his first five outings at the helm. The 2013-14 season was also the last time the Saints won multiple tournaments in a single season.
Tournament winners
Emely Kintzel and
Jillian Barend finished the two-day tournament at +10, 154. Barend's final round of +4 was enough to make up the one-stroke deficit of her teammate to finish tied by the end. The duo ended the 36 holes with a four-stroke lead on the third place finisher.
Julia Kret took a share of ninth with a total score of +19, while
Mackenzie Whitney finished tied for 13th at 21-over. Siena also had action from
Isabella Silva - who shot +36 total - and
Chelsea Woods - who was +27 over the two days.
The Saints return to the course at The Intercollegiate at Prospect Bay from Mar. 29-30 at Prospect Bay Country Club in Grasonville, MD.
