Siena Basketball Welcomes Christian Jones

McNamara Announces First Official Class of 2025 Addition

LOUDONVILLE, NY – Siena Basketball Head Coach Gerry McNamara has announced his third official addition, and first Class of 2025 commitment to the Saints 2025-26 roster, with the signing of Christian Jones.

"Christian is special," said McNamara. "He has elite speed, great vision, plays with the ball on a string, and is fearless. Christian has played in the best leagues in high school against the top competition, and always ends up controlling the game. He can score and beat you or pick you apart and beat you. Christian is fun to watch play the game, and I think that he has all the attributes to grow into being a guy that you can turn the ball over to in your program."

The Saints first official addition from the Class of 2025, who initially committed verbally last July, Jones is a 5-11, 165-pound incoming freshman point guard from Katy, Texas, who starred for one of the nation's top prep programs in Hillcrest Prep (Arizona). Rated a three-star prospect and ranked as the 44th best point guard nationally in his class by 247 Sports, Jones was a 2025 McDonald's All-American Games nominee.

Jones, who served as the floor general for the nation's top scoring offense (92.0) this past season, averaged 14.5 points and 11.2 assists while leading Hillcrest Prep to a 32-4 record as a junior in 2023-24 while playing a national schedule. He previously played for BFL Prep in Washington State. Jones also starred for JL3 Elite in the Nike EYBL, which he led to the Final Four of the Peach Jam last summer while averaging 11.9 points and 5.3 assists.

Jones becomes the third official addition – and first freshman – to join the 2025-26 Siena Men's Basketball team, following graduate transfers Riley Mulvey and Antonio Chandler, who were each formally announced earlier this week. Stay tuned in the coming days and weeks for the announcements of additional newcomers set to join the 2025-26 Saints.
