Saints Announce Addition of Graduate Transfer Antonio Chandler

Division II Standout Becomes Program’s Second Graduate Transfer This Offseason

LOUDONVILLE, NY – Siena Basketball Head Coach Gerry McNamara has announced his second official addition to the Saints 2025-26 roster. Piscataway, New Jersey graduate transfer Antonio Chandler, fresh off a breakout season at Division II Southern Connecticut State University, is set to complete his collegiate career at Siena College.

"Antonio is a player that we are really excited about," said McNamara. "He has a nose for the basketball, and competes with incredible physicality. Antonio has improved throughout every step of his collegiate journey, and produced at an incredibly high level this past season. He plays with an edge and physicality that impacts the game."

A 6-6, 210-pound forward, Chandler matriculates to Siena as a graduate student with one year of eligibility remaining. The veteran is set to enter his seventh season of collegiate basketball, following stops at DII programs Southern Connecticut (2024-25) and Franklin Pierce (2019-23), as well as one season at NAIA school University of Jamestown. In 102 total collegiate contests spanning parts of six seasons, Chandler has averaged 8.7 points and 6.7 rebounds.

Chandler matriculates to Siena following a sensational season at Southern Connecticut, where he earned both D2CCA All-Region and Northeast-10 Conference First Team honors this past winter with the Owls. He was named the NE-10 Player of the Week for Week 12, and also earned distinction as one of the conference's Faces in the Crowd twice.

Chandler ranked third nationally in all of Division II this past season in offensive rebounding (4.8), seventh in rebounding (11.3), eighth in double-doubles (16), and 12th in field goal percentage (.636). He averaged a double-double overall, adding 17.2 points while scoring in double figures in 21 of his 23 games played. Chandler erupted for a career-high 35-point performance on 15-18 shooting vs. American International on Feb. 11.

Chandler spent the prior 2023-24 season at the University of Jamestown in North Dakota, where he averaged 10.0 points and 5.9 rebounds while shooting 59.4% from the floor in 21 games with the Jimmies. He began his collegiate career at Franklin Pierce, averaging 4.9 points and 3.4 rebounds over 58 total games, while graduating with a BS in Biology.

Chandler starred in both basketball and volleyball at Piscataway High School, where he was named team MVP his senior season. He played his club basketball for N.J. Bulldogs.

Chandler is the second officially announced newcomer to join the 2025-26 Siena Men's Basketball team, following fellow graduate transfer Riley Mulvey who was announced yesterday. Stay tuned in the coming days and weeks for the announcements of additional newcomers set to join the 2025-26 Saints.
