LOUDONVILLE, NY - Siena Men's Soccer Head Coach
Graciano Brito has released the team's 2025 schedule ahead of the program's 50th Division I season. The slate features a match against 2024 NCAA Tournament Quarterfinalist Massachusetts (UMass), a rematch with BIG EAST Conference opponent Xavier, and the team's first home match against crosstown foe UAlbany since 2012.
Following a home scrimmage against Le Moyne on Aug. 15, Siena's 17-match regular season opens with a date on the road against UMass, who advanced to the NCAA Quarterfinals last season as an at-large team. The UMass match marks the first of three straight season-opening road contests for the first time since 2019, as the team follows with one more in the Commonwealth State at Boston College (Aug. 25) before taking a cross-country trip to Portland (Aug. 29) for the second-ever meeting between the programs (2014).
Siena will also look towards a battle with Big East foe Xavier for the second straight season, this time in Cincinnati, OH, on Sept. 14. The Saints tied the Musketeers last season on Hickey Field when the Green and Gold hosted the power conference threat one season removed from winning the BIG EAST Conference Tournament.
The Saints open their home slate with back-to-back matches against Fairleigh Dickinson (Sept. 3) and Northeastern (Sept. 9). Additionally, Siena will play host to its crosstown rivalry game against UAlbany for the first time in 13 years when the teams meet on Tuesday, Sept. 23.
Siena's 36th Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) season commences with a rematch of the 2024 MAAC Quarterfinals when the team travels to face Manhattan on Saturday, Sept. 20. The team's match at Manhattan will be one of 10 league contests this season, two more than in 2024. The Saints will play all but one of the league's postseason qualifiers from one season ago, including dates at reigning champion Iona on Wednesday, Oct. 15, and a home match against 2024 MAAC runner-up Rider on Saturday, Oct. 4.
The 2025 MAAC Men's Soccer Championships will revert back to a six-team field this season after the top-eight finishers qualified last fall. The No. 3 and No. 4 seeds will host quarterfinal round action on Sunday, Nov. 9, with the higher seed playing host to the MAAC Semifinals (Thursday, Nov. 13) and Championship (Sunday, Nov. 16) matches.
Siena looks to build off a 7-5-6 mark last season, as well as a 4-1-3 record in conference action during a year in which the Saints earned the #3 seed in the MAAC Tournament and won its first postseason match since 2016.
