Murphy ‘17 named Saints Alive! Director

Former Associate Director of Alumni Engagement joins the Saints Athletics staff

LOUDONVILLE, NY – Siena Athletics has named Brandon Murphy '17 to its newly created position of Saints Alive! Director to lead and grow Siena's athletic fundraising arm.

Murphy will be responsible for expanding the reach of the Saints Alive! Program through effective fundraising campaigns, event programming and face-to-face meetings. He'll also lead the planning for signature events to support the Siena athletic program, such as the annual golf tournament, Men's and Women's basketball tournaments and other events.

"We're excited to welcome Brandon into this athletic development and mission-driven role," said Siena University Director of Mission Support Mike Utzig '07.

"As associate director of alumni engagement, Brandon has been a forward-facing member of the community for close to seven years, meeting with alumni and friends across the country and hosting more than a hundred events each year to bring Saints together in celebration of all things Siena. In his new role, he will work closely with our athletic alumni and friends to support our exceptional programs and ensure our student athletes continue to inspire both in the classroom and in their athletic pursuits."

Previously, Murphy served as assistant director of alumni engagement from 2019 to 2021 and then was elevated to associate director of alumni engagement from 2021-2025. He'll now work closely with the Director of Mission Support, the Director of the Annual Fund, coaches, Athletic Administrators, Saints Alive! Advisory Council and others to identify potential major gift prospects for Athletics.

"I am excited to work with people who are passionate about the student athlete experience, the programs and the overall Siena community," Murphy said.

"I will continue to work with our supporters to advance the mission of Siena athletics and building better Saints, focused on the athletics' core values of student centered, community, equity and integrity."

Murphy holds a B.A. degree in psychology from Siena.

He currently resides in Troy.
