LOUDONVILLE, NY – For the second time this season, Siena Basketball freshman standout Francis Folefac has earned Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Weekly honors. Folefac has been named the Air Force Reserve MAAC Co-Rookie of the Week, sharing the award with Declan Wucherpfennig from Fairfield.
 
Folefac, who previously earned MAAC Rookie of the Week honors back on Dec. 1, averaged 18.5 points, 6.5 rebounds, and 3.0 assists while shooting 59% from the field over a monster two-game week for the Saints.
 
The freshman produced his first collegiate double-double with career-highs of 22 points, 10 rebounds, and four assists, while adding a pair of blocks in a narrow setback Friday night against then MAAC unbeaten Merrimack. The Lanham, Maryland product scored all 15 of his points in the second half – eight of which came during a decisive game-ending 16-3 run – to propel Siena past defending MAAC Tournament Champion Mount St. Mary's Sunday in his home state.
 
Folefac currently ranks fifth amongst all players in the MAAC in both field goal percentage (.537) and blocks (1.1). He's appeared in all 17 games (eight stats) so far during his rookie campaign, and is averaging 10.8 points and 4.5 rebounds, while adding 10 double-digit scoring performances.
 
Folefac and the Saints return to action when they host Sacred Heart Wednesday night at 7 p.m. at MVP Arena.
