Salter Puts Down Clamps; Earns Second MAAC Defensive Player of the Week Award

Sophomore Goalkeeper Totaled 17 Saves, Nine Groundballs and Picked up Pair of Victories Last Week for Saints

LOUDONVILLE, NY – Sophomore goalkeeper McAllister Salter continued her steady presence in front of the net and was honored with her second Metro Atlantic Athletic Association (MAAC) weekly award by being named the conference's Defensive Player of the Week on Monday in a vote by the conference's sports information directors.

Siena Women's Lacrosse had a 2-0 week, defeating Vermont 12-10 last Wednesday at Afrim's Sports Park in Colonie and then went on the road and topped UMass Lowell 10-8 this past Saturday.

Salter, a native of Tappan, NY, made 17 saves on a .486 save percentage and collected nine ground balls in playing the full 120 minutes in goal.

Salter ranks second in the MAAC in goals allowed per game (8.35), sixth in save percentage (.433) and is ranked first in ground balls (16) and ground balls per game (3.20).

She is 12-1 as a starter dating back to last season and the Saints are off to its best start in program history as one of 12 teams in Division I who are still undefeated.

Siena (5-0) returns to action this Wednesday when it hosts Villanova (3-2) of the Big East on Wednesday at 2 p.m. from Hickey Field.
