Siena Men's Golf competed in a one-day, 36-hole event at the Columbia Spring Invitational, hosted at Rolling Green Golf Club in Springfield, PA, finishing tied for fourth in a competitive 12-team field.
The Saints posted a two-round total of +44 (26-over in round one, 18-over in round two), matching Fordham and Le Moyne for fourth place behind team champion Drexel (+30), Penn (+33), and Manhattan (+43).
Siena was led by a trio of solid individual performances.
Michael McConie paced the Saints with a two-round score of +10 (74-76), finishing tied for 15th overall. He was joined in the top 30 by
Austin Giroux, who placed tied for 29th at +12 (78-74), while
Gavin Crowley followed closely at +13 (79-74) to tie for 32nd.
Rounding out the lineup,
KC Nickel carded a +16 (80-80) to finish tied for 42nd, and
Michael Broeker completed the scoring at +22 (78-86). As a team, Siena showed improvement in the second round, shaving eight strokes off its opening round score to climb into a tie for fourth.
The Saints will return to action on Monday, Apr. 13, at the Shark Invitational in Glen Cove, NY.
