Siena Hosts Marist in MAAC Men’s Lacrosse Championship

Top-Seeded Saints and No. 2 Red Foxes Play for the Chip on Saturday at Noon at Hickey Field

LOUDONVILLE, NY – A spot at the top of the mountain for MAAC Men's Lacrosse Championship supremacy is on the line when the defending MAAC Men's Lacrosse Champions Siena will host the No. 2 seeded Marist Red Foxes at noon at Hickey Field on Saturday.

With both programs tied with four MAAC championships apiece in program history, the winner will move all alone into first place all-time in MAAC titles won for the sport.

No. 2 Marist (10-4) took care of business on Thursday in the second semifinal of the day, stringing together a key 8-0 run to outlast No. 3 Sacred Heart 12-8 to advance to its eighth championship game. Junior midfielder Sean Mullan led the way with a game-high four goals for Marist.

On the other side, the top-seeded Saints (12-4) fended off a valiant effort by No. 4 Merrimack 12-11 to avenge an earlier season loss to them just eight days prior to advance to its third title game in the past four seasons and ninth overall. Senior midfielder Patrick Linton scored a career-high four goals in that affair.

The game will be broadcast on ESPNU. Jay Alter will be on the call with Mike Murphy serving as the color analyst. Live stats can be followed here.
