While UAlbany (0-1) leads the all-time series 15-11-4 heading into the 31
st meeting between the crosstown rivals, Siena (1-1) has held the upper hand in recent encounters. The Saints carry a four-match unbeaten streak (2-0-2) in the series into the latest edition, with three of those four tilts being contested across town. The programs are set to meet in Loudonville for the first time in five years.
Overall, Siena and UAlbany match up in non-conference action for the eighth time in 13 years. The Saints captured the most recent meeting 2-0 on Sept. 18, 2024 at Tom & Mary Casey Stadium behind a brace from Annie Bagnall '25, who has scored each of Siena's last four goals in the series. The Saints out-shot the Great Danes 29-12 – just two off a program single-match record – and held a 9-0 advantage in corners in a dominant performance.
Siena is looking to build off its first win of the season, a 1-0 triumph over New Hampshire in the home-opener Sunday.
Catherine Rogers scored the lone tally to extend her point scoring streak to seven consecutive matches dating back to last season, over which time she has totaled 13 points. With the victory, the Saints are now unbeaten in 16 of their last 18 matches (11-2-5) on Hickey Field, while outscoring the opposition by a 34-7 margin.
Projected to finish ninth (last) according to the America East Preseason Coaches' Poll, UAlbany is looking to improve upon a 2-13-2 mark (1-7 in America East action) from a season ago. The Great Danes return 16 letterwinners and two of their top-three scorers from last fall. UAlbany dropped its season-opener 5-1 to Boston University Sunday at Casey Stadium.
