LOUDONVILLE, NY – The Siena Men's Soccer team will open the home portion of its 2026 campaign Monday night when the Saints welcome Northeastern to Hickey Field. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m.
 
Siena enters the contest at 1-1-0 on the young season, opening the year with a 2-1 victory at NJIT before falling 3-0 at Boston College. Monday marks the Saints' first home match of the season as they look to secure their first home-opening victory since defeating UMass Lowell, 2-1, on Aug. 29, 2022.
 
The Saints are 3-2-1 in home openers this decade and 17-21-8 all-time in home openers dating back to 1980.
 
Goalkeeper Bennet Glinder enters Monday's contest just two saves shy of reaching 200 for his career. Glinder has started both matches this season and enters with a .789 save percentage and 2.00 goals against average. His 12 saves in Siena's season-opening victory at NJIT tied the program's single-match record. Glinder currently ranks second in The Metro with 7.5 saves per match.
 
Lucas Almeida has provided a strong offensive presence through the opening two matches, accounting for two of Siena's four goals while leading the Saints with five points. Dating back to last season, Almeida has recorded multiple points in six of his last seven matches, with the lone exception coming in Siena's NCAA Tournament match at Seton Hall. His two goals rank tied for second in The Metro, while his five points rank second.
 
Northeastern enters Monday's matchup at 2-1-0 following a 5-0 victory at Holy Cross, a 1-0 loss at Stonehill, and a 2-1 home win over Boston College. The Huskies were picked fifth in the North Division of the Coastal Athletic Conference in the preseason coaches' poll, while Ethan Kang and Jaden Prado were each selected as CAA Preseason All-Conference Honorable Mentions.
 
Tate Duax leads Northeastern with six points through three matches, tallying two goals and two assists. In goal, Brady Elmblad has posted a .895 save percentage and 0.67 goals against average while helping the Huskies to a 2-1-0 start. Jeremy Bonomo leads the Huskies in his third season.

Siena owns a 4-3-1 advantage in the all-time series against Northeastern, with Monday marking just the second meeting between the programs this century. The teams battled to a scoreless draw on Sept. 1, 2024 in Brookline, Massachusetts. The Saints are 3-1-0 all-time against the Huskies at home, earning 1-0 victories on Nov. 3, 1992 and Sept. 28, 1994, as well as a 4-0 triumph on Oct. 7, 1997. Northeastern's lone victory at Siena came by a 5-0 final on Sept. 28, 1996.
