LOUDONVILLE, NY – Siena Men's Soccer freshman midfielder Tito Somuyiwa has been named the Metro Conference Rookie of the Week following his performance in the Saints' 1-1 draw against Manhattan on September 26, the conference announced Monday.
 
Somuyiwa made an immediate impact after entering the match off the bench in the second half, scoring the game-tying goal in the 83rd minute to help Siena secure a point in Metro play. The goal marked the first of his collegiate career.
 
The freshman finished the match with one goal, two points, one shot, and one shot on goal. His equalizer came with just over seven minutes remaining, bringing the Saints level and completing a second-half comeback against the Jaspers.
 
The Rookie of the Week honor marks the first weekly conference award of Somuyiwa's collegiate career.
