The National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) today announced the NABC Division I All-District Teams recognizing the country's best men's collegiate basketball student-athletes. Siena College senior guard Prosper Karangwa (Montreal, Quebec/Dawson College) was selected to the District 2 Second Team.
Selected and voted on by member coaches of the NABC, the student-athletes represent the finest basketball players across the country. The 150 student-athletes, from 15 districts, are now eligible for the NABC Division I All-American Team to be announced at the conclusion of the 2002-2003 men's basketball season.
Karangwa is having a stellar season for the 15-9 Saints, currently ranking as just one of five players nationwide to lead his team in scoring (16.8 ppg), rebounding (6.6 rpg) and assists (4.8 apg). The senior standout has reached double figures in 22 of Siena's 24 games and is tops on the team with 34 minutes per game and 31 steals.
Karangwa and the Saints return to action at Sovereign Bank Arena, site of the upcoming MAAC Championships, on Sunday afternoon at 6:30 p.m.
