Siena and Union Partner to Offer Special "Hoops and Hockey" Packages

Fans Can Cheer on Two Premier Capital Region Collegiate Programs For One Low Price, Including Complimentary Commemorative Keepsakes

LOUDONVILLE, NY – Siena University and Union College Athletics today announced an innovative new partnership that will provide Capital Region sports fans with the opportunity to enjoy NCAA Division I college athletics at three of the area's dynamic venues, including the all-new M&T Bank Center in downtown Schenectady.  
 
The inaugural "Hoops and Hockey" package features one Siena Men's Basketball and one Union Men's Hockey contest; or two Siena Women's Basketball and two Union Women's Hockey events, heralding a fan-friendly partnership by two local collegiate sports programs for the first time.
 
"We congratulate Union College on opening their new arena and welcome the chance to offer our fans a trip across town to enjoy Garnet Charger hockey alongside the thrills of Siena Basketball," said Siena Vice President/Director of Athletics John D'Argenio. "Siena and Union both have a rich history in the Capital Region, and we're eager to showcase an affordable and engaging experience for both fanbases."
 
For an all-inclusive price of $45, fans can cheer on Siena Men's Basketball at MVP Arena in downtown Albany and experience Union Men's Hockey at its new home, the state-of-the-art M&T Bank Center in downtown Schenectady.
 
For $40, fans can enjoy a pair of Siena Women's Basketball games at UHY Center on the campus of Siena University and a pair of Union Women's Hockey games at M&T Bank Center.
 
Both packages also include a complimentary Union Hockey puck and drink koozie and commemorative Siena hat and pennant.
 
"Union Hockey and Siena Basketball represent two of the most successful collegiate sports programs in the Capital Region and this partnership allows fans to experience the area's newest sporting venue alongside the excitement of a game inside MVP Arena or UHY Center," said Union College Director of Athletics Jim McLaughlin. "Hoops and hockey embody the winter sports season, and we're excited to incorporate both within this convenient fan-oriented package."
 
Fans can select games from each of the following options to build out their customized Men's or Women's "Hoops and Hockey" Package:

  • Monday, Nov. 3 vs. Bryant – 7 p.m.
  • Friday, Jan. 9 vs. Merrimack – 7 p.m.
  • Wednesday, Jan. 14 vs. Sacred Heart – 7 p.m.
  • Thursday, Jan. 22 vs. Marist – 7 p.m.
  • Thursday, Feb. 5 vs. Iona – 7 p.m.
  • Sunday, March 1 vs. Rider – 2 p.m.
 
Union Men's Hockey:
  • Friday, Nov. 14 vs. UMass Lowell – 7 p.m.
  • Friday, Dec. 12 vs. Alaska Fairbanks – 7 p.m.
  • Saturday, Dec. 13 vs. Alaska Fairbanks – 5 p.m.
  • Friday, Jan. 16 vs. Brown – 7 p.m.
  • Saturday, Jan. 17 vs. Yale – 5 p.m.
 
Women's Package: Select two games from each for $40
