The "Most Valuable Doubles Team" award went to senior captain Brooke Fisher and junior Meghan Slenkamp. The pair compiled a 13-8 record at the number two doubles position. "Brooke and Meghan were a great combination," O'Brien said. "With Meghan's aggressive charging the net style, and Brooke's deadly forehand drive the duo played a key role in our success."
Fisher also received the "Heart-of-the Team" award. "Brooke has been a great captain for this team," O'Brien said. "She is soft spoken and leads by example. We will miss her and wish her the best in her upcoming travels."
The "Most Valuable Player" award was presented to sophomore Julia Lebedev. Lebedev led the team with a singles record of 10-9. For the last 10 matches, she played at the number one and two positions because of injuries. "Julia also had some impressive wins with Molly Scullin in doubles," O'Brien noted. "Playing with Julia has helped Molly see that she can play with the higher levels players in the MAAC. Julia's combination of consistent play and her improved strength will really begin to pay off next season."
