Saints Welcome Keio University to the United States

LOUDONVILLE, N.Y. - The Siena women's lacrosse program welcomes Keio University of Tokyo, Japan to the states for an eight day lacrosse tour beginning October 4 through the 11. Keio begins the tour in Loudonville against the Saints at 4:15 p.m.

The Saints will serve as the host team for Keio, and the student athletes will reside on campus with the women's lacrosse team. Thursday, Keio begins the lacrosse tour in a scrimmage with the Saints on Siena Field. Friday afternoon, Keio will take on the Saints on the campus of UAlbany at 5:00 p.m.

Keio makes their way south on the Thruway Saturday for their next stop in Poughkeepsie, N.Y. to partake in the Marist College fall ball tournament. Long Island is their final destination of the tour. Keio will meet C.W. Post, Hofstra and participate in the Molloy College tournament from October 8-10.

This past summer head coach Jake McHerron took a group of MAAC All-Stars to participate in Japan's 18th Annual Friendship Games from June 12 - 20. Seniors Corey Fink (Sayville, N.Y./Sayville) and Leah Ciaccio (Skaneateles, N.Y./Skaneateles) made the trip overseas representing Siena's women's lacrosse program. Among games played, the MAAC All-Stars took on the under-21 Japanese National team at Edowaga Stadium.

The team stayed with host families in Tokyo, Japan. The MAAC All-Stars participated in various cultural events including a tea ceremony, calligraphy session, traveling through Japanese markets, sightseeing on the countryside to view shrines and even a ride on the bullet train to the famous Mount Fuji.
