Loudonville, NY - After posting a successful fall season and having a player selected as a PING Cleveland Golf All-America Scholar as announced by the Golf Coaches Association of America, the Siena College men's golf team is slated to get back into the swing of things this weekend as the team begins its spring season at the Bethune-Cookman Spring Invitational in Daytona Beach, Fla. Play begins on Saturday and will conclude with the tournament's second and final round on Sunday.

Against stiff competition, the Saints posted three-consecutive top five finishes at Binghamton Invitational, Cornell and Navy Invitational last season. With the accomplishment of ending the fall season taking 1st place at Binghamton Invitational, the Saints return a stellar 10 man line-up, that includes lone senior Robby Bigley, juniors Alex Arrigo, Bryan Bigley, Brian Dunn, Dennis Gosier, Jeremy Melchior, Allen Parker, sophomores Brandon Conti, Chris Haggerty and Matt Lentner and freshman Daniel Abbondandolo, all have high hopes for the upcoming spring season.

Bryan Bigley capped off an impressive six month span which saw him capture the MAAC Champion All time tournament with a record 6 under par. He led the saints with a 75.8 scoring average and finished in the top 20 of all four of Siena's fall tournament.

In his final year of competition, senior Robby Bigley also posted a strong fall, finishing first at the Binghamton's NBT Bank Collegiate Classic William H. Tucker Invitational and 18th at the Navy Fall Invitational.

"I'm really anxious to see how we play this spring and Bethune should give us a good idea of where we stand," Siena head coach Tom Wronowski said. "The guys are really excited to be playing again and if that counts for anything we should be in pretty good shape."

Tee off time is set for an early bird start.
