Final Stats
McNeese State completed a three game sweep of Siena with a 5-1 victory on Sunday, relying on another strong effort by a Cowboy starting pitcher. Chris Denton pitched seven strong innings allowing just one hit. Jake Willis doubled home the Saints only run in the ninth inning.
The Cowboys jumped on Siena starter Craig Chaput for three runs in the first inning. Charlie Kingroy singled ome two runs with two outs in the first.
McNeese padded its lead with a Chris Fontenot homerun in the fourth inning.
The Saints got solid contributions from the backend of the bullpen as Matt Moberg and Will Hassett each pitched two scoreless innings to close out the game. Moberg and Hassett allowed just one hit a piece and combined to strikeout three batters.
Four Siena players had a hit. Kingroy and Chris Fortenut had two hits a piece for McNeese.
The Saints return to action at Elon March 4.
