LOUDONVILLE, NY – Following a torrid final month to cap his collegiate career, Siena Baseball standout
Nick Bergamotto has been honored by the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference. The senior second baseman from Caldwell, New Jersey has been heralded as a Second Team All-MAAC honoree.
Â
Bergamotto saved his best for last to punctuate his collegiate career. Over his final 18 games, he hit an astounding .430 (34-79) with 18 runs scored and 17 RBI, setting the table atop the lineup while helping keep the Saints in postseason contention to the final series.
Â
Overall, Bergamotto currently ranks seventh in the MAAC after hitting at a team-best .345 clip – 79 points better than his career batting average entering this season – and also led Siena with 58 hits. He appeared in 44 games (43 starts) and added three home runs and 22 RBI while registering more walks (22) than strikeouts (21). Moreover, Siena finished with 11 wins at Connors Park this spring, equaling (2010, 2011, 2018, 2021) their highest total in 18 years since winning 16 home games back in 2008.
