Scott King went 3-for-4 to lead six Siena players with multi-hit games as the Saints took the critical third game of their MAAC series at Rider Sunday. Freshman Matt Moberg pitched seven solid innings to pick up the first victory of his collegiate career.

Siena scored in its first at bat as Rick Seltzer's two-out double chased home Jake Willis with the game's first run. Rider responded with two runs in its first at bat on a single up the middle by Mike Poalise and a mishandled ground ball off the bat of Maurice Williams.

King led off the second with a triple to right field and scored on Eric Hildenbrand's subsequent single. The Broncs scored an unearned run in the third to take the lead back, 3-2.

The Saints broke the game open with a five-run, seven hit fifth inning. Bill Lazio, Chris Klepps, King and Michael Ambury all had RBI hits in the inning. In the meantime, Moberg settled down and did not allow a run in the middle three innings, sacrificing just one fifth inning single.

The Saints padded their lead on a Willis sacrifice fly in the sixth. Trailing 8-3, Rider scored a single run in the seventh, but Moberg got a bases loaded double play to avoid further damage. Gene Crimoli singled home the final run of the game in the ninth, but reliever Will Hassett struck out Olson to end the game.

Gabe Perez, Lazio, Klepps, King, Hildenbrand and Ambury all had multi-hit games for Siena. Poalise was the only Bronc with more than one hit. He went 3-for-4 with three runs.

The Saints return to non-league play Tuesday at Quinnipiac.
