Final Stats
T.J. Baxter and Greg Wolfe each went 3-for-3 to pace New Orleans' 11-hit attack as the Privateers defeated the Saints 10-2 at Maestri Field Sunday. Moises Riviera had three hits in a losing effort for Siena.
Jason DeFilippo led off the game with a single for the Saints (0-2), stole second and came around to score on Rick Seltzer's RBI single to left center.
UNO quickly got to Siena starter Matt Moberg (0-1), evening the score in their first at bat and striking for two runs in the second and third innings. Wolfe got the UNO (4-5) scoring started with an RBI single in the first inning, and Baxter's RBI triple preceded an RBI single from Jerad Comarda in the second.
Wolfe added another RBI single in the third, and the Privateers scored another run on a Siena error.
Comarda later added a solo home run in the sixth, and UNO cinched it with a three-run seventh.
Siena scored its second run in the fifth inninmg as Nick Messinger led off the frame with a double and came around to score on Eric Mruczek's RBI groundout.
The two teams will wrap up the series with a 2:30 p.m. game on Monday. The game was originally scheduled for 6:30 p.m., but has been moved forward due to delays in the construction of temporary lighting for Maestri Field.
