Final Stats
Siena freshman Craig Marcellus pitched seven strong innings, allowing just one earned run in seven hits, but the Siena bats were silent for the second straight day in a 2-0 loss at Tulane Saturday afternoon. The game lasted just 2 hours and five minutes.
Sophomore right-hander Shooter Hunt struck out four in a 7.0-inning start and senior closer Daniel Latham picked up his sixth save of the season with a scoreless ninth for Tulane.
The Green Wave (15-6) scored an unearned run in the third and a run in the seventh off Marcellus, who delivered one of the top pitching performances of the season in a losing effort for Siena. Trevor Reid pitched a scoreless eighth for the Saints.
The Siena (0-14) offense managed just four hits on the afternoon. Chris Klepps, Jake Willis, Rick Seltzer and Moises Riviera each singled.
The two teams complete their three game series Sunday afternoon.
