Tulane Sneaks Past Siena 2-0

March 17, 2007

Final Stats

Siena freshman Craig Marcellus pitched seven strong innings, allowing just one earned run in seven hits, but the Siena bats were silent for the second straight day in a 2-0 loss at Tulane Saturday afternoon. The game lasted just 2 hours and five minutes.

Sophomore right-hander Shooter Hunt struck out four in a 7.0-inning start and senior closer Daniel Latham picked up his sixth save of the season with a scoreless ninth for Tulane.

The Green Wave (15-6) scored an unearned run in the third and a run in the seventh off Marcellus, who delivered one of the top pitching performances of the season in a losing effort for Siena. Trevor Reid pitched a scoreless eighth for the Saints.

The Siena (0-14) offense managed just four hits on the afternoon. Chris Klepps, Jake Willis, Rick Seltzer and Moises Riviera each singled.

The two teams complete their three game series Sunday afternoon.
