Final Stats
Siena out-hit Florida for the second straight day, but the Saints couldn't find the big hit in a 4-0 setback in Gainsville Saturday. Four Gators' pitchers combined to post a shutout and Florida defeated stubborn Siena for the second time in as many days.
First baseman Brandon McArthur went 3-for-3 with a pair of RBI to pace Florida's offense. The Gators scored once in each of their first two at bats and added two runs in the fifth to account for all of the game's scoring.
The Siena bullpen pitched four hitless innings in relief of starter Matt Moberg who was charged with just two earned runs in four innings of work. Six Siena players collected a hit in the loss.
Florida got all five of its hits off Moberg, who finished with four strikeouts.
Ryan King and Jake Willis went the final four innings on the mound without allowing a run or a hit for the Saints. For Willis, it was his first collegiate appearance. The senior is one of the top offensive players to ever come through the program, and could be used regularly in late-inning relief this season.
Patrick Keating picked up the victory for Florida. He pitched five and a third innings of five-hit ball, striking out four Siena players.
The two teams complete their three-game series Sunday at noon.
