Aaron Murphree homered three times, driving in four runs and scoring four to lead Arkansas past Siena 14-5 Friday afternoon in Fayetteville, Ark. Jacob Willis was 2-for-4 with a home run for Siena.
Arkansas scored in each of its first six at bats to break the game open early. Siena scored twice in the top of the first to grab a quick lead on an RBI single from Willis and an RBI double by senior Chris Klepps.
The Razorbacks answered with four runs in the home half of the first to take the lead for good. They led 8-2 after four innings of play.
The Saints scored twice on the top of the fifth on Willis' home run and an RBI single off the bat of Phil Cahill.
But Arkansas' offense was too much. Ben Tschepikow and Tim Smalling each had four hit games. The Razorbacks had five home runs in the game.
Siena managed 10 hits, as eight different players collected a safety.
The two teams will play the second game of their three game series Saturday afternoon.
