Men's Soccer Loses to Temple, 2-0

Oct. 3, 2009

Final Stats

Temple scored two second half goals to defeat Siena men's soccer 2-0 Saturday afternoon in Philadelphia. Siena outshot Temple 16-13, but Bret Mollon made seven saves to earn the shutout win. Siena finishes its non-conference schedule with a 5-4-1 record (2-5-1 in 2008).

Siena (5-4-1) and Temple (5-3-1) played a scoreless first half. But the Owls got on the scoreboard just over three minutes into the second half when Martin Dell'Arciprete drew a ball back from the end line to Augustin Coly who tapped it in the goal. Temple added some insurance in the 79th minute when J.T. Noone played a through ball to Evan Bransdorfer who finished his shot from the left side of the penalty box.

Goalkeeper Phil Chabot (3-3-2) made three saves in the loss. Joe Tavernese and Bobby Di Filippo led the Saints with three shots a piece.

Siena returns to action on Friday when it hosts Iona in the MAAC opener. Game time is scheduled for 12 p.m.
