Freshman C.J. Sohl and sophomore Dan Lazzaroni combined to allow just four runs in six hits in eight innings, but four Cardinal pitchers pooled for a seven-hit shutout as the Saints lost their fourth straight game, 4-0, at Lamar Tuesday.
Lamar scored twice in the fourth off Sohl and twice in the seventh off Lazzaroni accounting for the only runs of the game.
Anthony Giansanti and red-hot freshman second baseman Dan Paolini each had two hits for the Saints. Siena has scored just one run in its last three games.
The Cardinals and Saints complete their mini two-game series Wednesday afternoon.
