Final Stats
Niagara and Siena again played a hotly-contested low scoring game on Easter Sunday, but this time the Purple Eagles got the upper hand, taking the final game of the weekend set 2-0 in Niagara Falls.
Senior Michael Kellar improved to a perfect 4-0 in conference play with a complete game, three-hit shutout for Niagara. The Purple Eagles scored twice in the second, accounting for the only runs of the game.
Kellar pitched his second straight complete game, this time allowing just three hits.
Niagara gave Kellar a 2-0 cushion when rookie second baseman Keith Picconi lined a two-run double down the rightfield line in the second inning. Outfielders Stephen Smith and Cam Stykemain scored on the play. Stykemain went 3-for-3 on the afternoon and reached base all four times with three singles and a walk.
Eric Mruczek had two of Siena's three-hits on the day. Craig Chaput went the distance on the hill for Siena, scattering 10 hits and allowing just the two runs. He struck out eight along the way.
Siena returns to action at Binghamton Tuesday.
