Siena women's lacrosse placed five student-athletes on the MAAC All-Academic Team as announced by the league office Thursday evening. Erin Hepper, Caitlin Mikel, Jaclyn Papa, Liz Peters and Allie Primo all demonstrated excellence in the classroom as well as on the playing field.
Hepper (Bernardsville, N.J./Bernards), a sophomore midfielder, has a 3.26 GPA in business. After missing the first six games of the season due to injury, she started 10 of the last 11 games and scored seven points on six goals and one assist. Hepper also had 26 ground balls.
Mikel (Rochester, N.Y./Irondequoit), a sophomore attackman, owns a 3.7 GPA in business. She was second on the team with 45 points (up from a team leading 27 last season) on 33 goals and 12 assists. Mikel was second on the team with 35 draw controls.
Papa (Clifton Park, N.Y./Shenendehowa), a junior defenseman, has a 3.78 GPA in biology. She started 10 of 15 games and forced nine turnovers while picking up six ground balls.
Peters (Freeport, N.Y./Freeport), a sophomore goalie, has a 3.4 GPA in business. She started two of five games and made 18 saves this season.
Primo (Manlius, N.Y./Fayetteville Manlius), a sophomore defenseman, has a 3.67 GPA in business. She started 14 of 16 games and tallied one assist. Primo forced 13 turnovers and had 18 ground balls.
To be eligible for the MAAC All-Academic Team, a student athlete must complete two semesters at their institution and hold a cumulative grade point average of 3.20 on a 4.0 scale.
