LOUDONVILLE, N.Y. - Siena's men's lacrosse coaching staff, as well as the coaches from Western New England College, held a clinic at Siena Turf Field on Sunday that benefit Bellarmine coach Jack McGetrick who is battling cancer. They raised $500 to help with his treatment.
The Intercollegiate Men's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IMLCA) initiated a series of clinics to help McGetrick's fight as well as created Everyone Works for Jack!, the first coaches emergency fund.
McGetrick started a new Division I lacrosse program at Bellarmine University in 2004. He spent 11 seasons at the University of Hartford as its head coach. McGetrick was named 1997 national coach-of-the-year by the United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association. He has had a tremendous influence on young boys and men playing youth, high school and collegiate lacrosse. His efforts to be a leader in developing young boys and men on- and off-the field has benefitted many around the country. The IMLCA membership now is working to show their appreciation to Jack and support his battle during this great time of need.
