Final Stats
Siena only managed three hits and was shutout 8-0 at South Alabama Sunday afternoon in the final game of its four-game series. Lance Baxter pitched eight innings and struck out five. The Jaguars scored three runs in the third inning and five in the fifth.
Kyle Hudson broke up the no-hitter in the fifth inning when he doubled down the left field line. Mike Allen and Kyle Barbato accounted for Siena's other two hits. They both successfully pinch hit as Allen singled in the eighth inning and Barbato doubled in the ninth.
Adam Heisler reached base on an error to lead off the third inning. Zach Grichor drove him in with a double to right centerfield. Taylor White followed with an extra-base hit and Jake Overstreet and Brent Tanner had sacrifice flies.
The Jaguars scored four of their five runs in the fifth inning with two outs. They used a balk, a wild pitch, a hit batsmen and back-to-back doubles to bust the game open.
Zach Hartman started on the mound for Siena and allowed five runs (three earned) in 4 2/3 innings. Dan Miklas (2 IP) and John Kellogg (1 IP) teamed up to pitch a scoreless three innings to end the game.
The Saints wrap up their Southern road trip with a three-game series at Georgia next weekend.
