Brent Herbst Named All-American

May 27, 2010

Siena goalie Brent Herbst '10 was named a 2010 All-American Honorable Mention by United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (USILA) Thursday morning, making him the most decorated Siena lacrosse player in school history.

This is the second straight season he's been named All-American and the honor comes in the same week that he was selected to the North/South all-star game and named a Scholar All-American.

Herbst (Plainview, N.Y./Plainview JFK) became Siena's first All-American since Tony Asterino in 1981 and is now the only player to accomplish the feat twice. Herbst went 12-4 this past season and ranks in the country's top-5 in GAA (5th-7.89) and save percentage (3rd-0.594). He won MAAC Defensive Player of the Year and earned First Team honors as he led the Saints to their second consecutive undefeated MAAC regular season championship.

Herbst is one of two goalies on the North roster and will play the South all-stars tomorrow at Goucher College in Towson, Maryland at 5:30 p.m.
