Cameron Hobson tossed a two-hit, 14-strikeout, seven-inning strikeout of Siena Friday at Time Warner Cable Stadium in Dayton, Ohio. Hobson faced just two over the minimum, and got plenty of support, in a game that was called after seven innings due to rain with Dayton comfortably in control 13-0.
Mike Allen collected both of Siena's (4-11) hits on the afternoon, finishing 2-for-2, while the rest of his teammates went 0-for-19.
Dayton (9-8) scored in its first six at bats, collecting 14 hits off Siena pitching. Freshman Matt O'Kipney worked a scoreless seventh for the Saints.
Junior Brian Blasik went 2-for-3 at the plate with three runs scored and a RBI to pace the Flyers. Mel Skochdopole and Bobby Glover each had three-hit games as well.
The Saints recorded four fielding errors on the day, resulting in eight unearned runs.
The two teams continue a four-game series Saturday at noon in a doubleheader at Time Warner Cable Stadium.
