Final Stats
Dan Paolini and the Siena offense did its part at regional power Dartmouth Wednesday afternoon, but the Big Green bats jumped on Siena pitching early and often in a 16-11 win at Red Rolfe Field in Hanover, N.H.
Dartmouth led 12-0 after the first three innings before Paolini launched his first home run of the game with one out in the fourth. His second home run came an inning later - a two run blast that made the score 14-5. It was the second straight day the junior slugger homered twice. He now has 46 career long balls, just one shy of the school's all-time record (Ryan Finn '02 - 47).
Siena cut the lead to a touchdown with a pair of runs in the sixth, and scored four times in the ninth to close within the final margin.
William Cardona added two hits for the Saints, an RBI double in the fourth and a two-run home run in the sixth. Larry Balkwill and Ken Kirshner each had two hits and an RBI in defeat as well.
Joe Sclafani had three hits and three runs scored, pacing five players who posted multi-hit games for the Big Green.
The Saints will look to get back on track this weekend against Binghamton. They host a doubleheader with the Bearcats on Saturday, and travel to Binghamton for two games Sunday.
